Audrey Heller has been showing her distinctive and playful photos since 1996.  Drawing from her training as a director and lighting designer for theater, and her love of overlooked details and visual puns, her body of work took shape.  The little guys quickly found a big following.

She has shown at top juried art festivals around the country since 2000, jumping in the deep end at the internationally recognized Sausalito Art  Festival.

She has earned several awards, including the Gil Borgos Award for Originality at the 2006 Beverly Hills Affaire in the Gardens.  Her photos and writing have been published around the country, including My Table in Houston.

Her own website has been popular internationally since it launched in 2000, and her work is featured in blogs and sites including Apartment Therapy, and Writer’s Block Party.

“There is something very familiar about the image of being tiny in a giant environment, and something inspiring, as well as humorous, about seeing such serious and industrious workers and explorers take on the daunting tasks that they face.”

By car, van, plane and dolly, she has transported her work and displays across the country through wind and weather.  Along the way she has collected a fine posse of creative and kind pals, a bevy of admirers, a smattering of emulators, and lots and lots of stories.

Audrey lives in her native San Francisco, and is proud to embody many of its values.
