Two staples of the artist's life. Vans and Cell phones.
The Magyar Brothers. Ryan and Wes- both super talented and super fun. We took a trip to the Denver Art Museum after Cherry Creek to see one of Wes' paintings hanging in a show of Colorado Artists.
We made a pilgrimage to the BIG chair, to play with some old but fun camera tricks.
Ryan was the model for this painting by Wes. So here's Ryan modeling in front of a picture that he modeled for, and Wes taking a picture of a picture he painted. Ooooh. Layers! See more of Wes' work at

Sophie makes special friends wherever she goes. Here she's hooked up with a pal from Blue Genie Art Industries in Austin. Visiting their supremely cool operation is energizing and inspiring. If you ever need a giant zebra, or a parade float, or a museum display, this is the place to go.
Yeah, things get pretty wild in the artist's life. After a hot day on the pavement in Austin, I ended up in the tub with Norman Green and his wife.

Hey, it was HER idea. I just brought the ice.

It's so comforting to know, that even in a remote hamlet like Quartzite AZ, I can be sure of finding ice cream and "stuff"! That's Sarah Jane Hassler, she's more excited about the discount tools, but I'm still curious about the "stuff".

The ice cream was tasty.

Definitely a high point (no pun intended) of 2003 was a week in Sun Valley with this band of artistes. After the show was over, we spent a few days exploring the wilds of Idaho. This picture was taken halfway through a 4 hour horseback ride. We were smiling so much because we were so happy to have a couple of minutes to restore circulation to our saddle zones.
Did I say "high point"?

We did some power-playing. In a 24 hour period I went ice skating,to the symphony, horseback riding, hot springing and para-gliding.

Dubya, eat your heart out.
