No kidding. Just try. Dahlquists excepted. Whether you loved them or hated them, the way that the public was engaging with the installation was inspiringly vibrant. And I know it sounds trite, but I love New York.
I will give a photo to the first person who can correctly identify the location of this picture.
Sophie the intrepid French giraffe still makes friends wherever she goes. She tried sitting on the saddle of this pal but the wind was blowing about 60 mph through his ears.
She's got a nose for fine dining, too. This was dessert at "zoom", Robert Redford's place in Park City. Yes, as a matter of fact, it did taste as good as it looked. Made even better by the fact that I ate it sitting down, and not talking to ANYone, a novelty during show season.
Once driving to Denver, my friend Greg and I got stuck without a motel room in the middle of Nevada. We ended up being offered a choice between a "smoking room" and a "smoking-pets room". This was what I imagined for the smoking pets, so we stuck with simple smoking.
One of my favorite public art experiences of 2004 was the new Millennium Park that opened in Chicago (4 years late, but who's counting)
I made a pilgimage to NYC to see the Gates. It was amazing.
